Some fun facts: Kayla once had a pet bird that perched outside of the office window… As of 29 November 2016, we no longer discuss ‘Jose.’ Also, Kayla just happens to be an avid sing-a-long-er… she jams out to Backstreet Boys and One Direction like a pro.

Where did you grow up?
Portland, Oregon
What brought you to Because International?
I started as a volunteer when I was going into my senior year of college because I loved their mission!
When did you start working at Because?
I officially started in July of 2016
What is another organization you'd like to work with for one week?
World Vision or with Bill Belichick and the Patriots.
Have you ever worn the shoe?
Yes!
What's the best concert you've ever been to?
Jonas Brothers – 2009 (#jobros4ever) or NEEDTOBREATHE – 2016
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love to hang out with friends, watch football, go on walks with my husband and new puppy, and volunteer with the high schoolers at my church’s youth group!
Where did you go to school?
I graduated from Northwest Nazarene University with a degree in Social Work.
Who's your favorite athletic team?
New England Patriots – Go Pats!!
What's your favorite part about working for Because?
The awesome people I get to work with and getting to play a small role in bettering the lives of children!
What's your favorite memory in the office?
There are so many! I had a lot of fun at our ribbon cutting in August, and also just the everyday jokes that we share in the office. We work hard but have fun while doing it!
Where can people find you on your lunch break?
At Messenger Pizza (a pro and con to having an office right above a pizza shop!)
If you could describe the perfect vacation, where would you be?
Somewhere on a beach with all of my closest friends and family
